The 14th Annual Scientific Meeting of APSCVIR took place in Bali, Indonesia from 21st to 24th February 2019 with 420 registrants from the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.
A total of 143 free papers including 43 oral papers, 77 e-posters and 9 walking posters were presented during the meeting.
APSCVIR enjoyed the commitment and support by various global Interventional Radiology societies including CIRSE, SIR, SIO, SPIR and ISVIR that brought together world-renowned leaders in the different subspecialties of Interventional Radiology at the meeting, galvanizing the bonds with these societies.
The above academic pursuits would not have been possible without the continued generous support from our 20 industry partners who contributed nine educational sessions during the meeting.
The highlight of the event was the awards ceremony at the Cultural Fest Gala Dinner where (i) Three exceptional APSCVIR members – Professor Abdul Samad Bin Sakijan from Malaysia, Professor Teng Gao Jun from China and Professor Masatoshi Okazaki from Japan – received the 2019 APSCVIR Gold Medalist Award; (ii) Professors Jim Reekers, Ziv Haskal and Brian Stainken, were also presented APSCVIR Honorary Memberships for their long untiring support and outstanding contributions to field of cardiovascular and interventional radiology; and (iii) 15 young interventional radiologists (below the age of 40), received the young interventional radiologist sponsorship awards.
With the successful conclusion of this meeting, do mark your calendars for the 15th Annual Scientific Meeting of the APSCVIR from 6th to 9th March 2020 in Taipei, Taiwan. Till we meet again!
